Cleansing ritual before the wedding ceremony begins, by the pemangku (village priest) for the wedding couple Offerings for this cleansing ritual. The bride & groom circle these offerings three times. The bride carries goods for bartering/trade in the basket on her head (Balinese: Nyuwun). The groom carries a sprouting coconut & various herbal plants strapped to a branch of the dadap tree (Balinese: Negen) The severing of the cotton thread by the wedding couple. Preceded by the circling of the thread three times, severing their ties from their old 'youthful' world & now entering the world of an 'adult'. Ceremony led by the pemangku to ask permission from Ketut Partha's ancestors that the bride & groom will receive their blessing & live a happy family life protected by them.

Lunch Cathy, Kris, Sari and Kristi Sudharsana. The pedanda (high priest) dressing in the clothes used specifically for the wedding ceremony. His prayers for the couple are for God to keep them safe, so that they live in harmony. Also he gives the couple advice based on the Hindu holy book called the 'Weda'. The bride & groom ready to go before the pedanda. This ceremony is held in a small pavilion (Balinese: bale dangin) that is used for all of the life cycle ceremonies (Balinese: Upacara Manusa Yadnya). Same as Ketut21.
